There'll Be A Time When The Sun Will Refuse To Shine
digital & Vinyl. Nominated for Spellemannsprisen 2024
Dust bowl, witches, guitar evangelists, 50's movies and Nina Simone are themes when blues and roots artist Daniel Eriksen releases his 10th album. The album is produced by renowned Gøran Grini, who has previously produced wonderful albums by Chip Taylor, Tommy Tokyo and Paal Flaata. Special guest is Joachim Cooder with his electric mbira. The magazine Bluesnews reviewed it to 6/6
This rollicking solo performance was recorded at Cudrio Recording in Langesund, Norway April 2020 during an early Corona lockdown. Daniel brought his guitars and stomp boxes to the intimate recording studio, and performed 12 songs spanning from his debut album Ya Ya to his latest award winning Barefoot Among Scarecrows. You'll find dark gospel blues from the Spellemann winner Moonshine Hymns and rough delta blues from the critically acclaimed Narrative Boogie album. All the songs were performed live without retakes or overdubs, and recorded and broadcast in real time. Honest music from a fairly desperate time in our lives.
